J.A.C.K. Sanctuary may not be large, but its impact has been extraordinary.
What began in 2006 with the rescue of a single chimpanzee has grown into more than 70 critical rescue missions, leading to the eradication of chimpanzee trafficking in the DRC’s second-largest city and saving hundreds of primates from the horrors of the bushmeat and pet trades.
Today, the sanctuary provides lifelong care to 46 chimpanzees, 3 bonobos, and more than 120 other primates — each one with a unique story of survival, resilience, and healing. But the mission doesn’t stop there.

Giving Day for Apes: A Vital Moment for J.A.C.K.
Every October, great ape sanctuaries from around the world come together for Giving Day for Apes, a one-day global fundraising event where sanctuaries compete to raise the most donations.
For J.A.C.K., this day represents far more than a competition — it’s a lifeline.
This year’s goal is ambitious: to raise $10,000 to feed and care for the 46 chimpanzees and 3 bonobos entrusted to the sanctuary by the Congolese government.
There’s even better news:
A generous supporter, SAFE WORLDWIDE, has pledged to match donations up to $5,000 — but only if J.A.C.K. raises the remaining $5,000 before October 7.
That means every Dollar counts — and time is running short.
