First harvest of honey

We are so excited to share this wonderful information!

Remember, in May 2019, a honey project was launched at the sanctuary by the Vinmart Foundation. Knowing that our chimpanzee residents are fond of this very particular treat, the Foundation accepted to help building the bee hives and, Mr Abdon, a member of the Vinmart Foundation team, has come regularly to check the progress of the project.

Today, despite the fact that our sanctuary is in total lockdown, it was very important to get the honey out of the bee hives and to filter it. Mr Abdon worked along with two of our staff members and an estimated of 4 kilos of honey was harvested! We were all very impressed of the first results!

We are so grateful to the Vinmart Foundation for its support and for its wish to help! The Foundation has been assisting J.A.C.K. for several years now and, thanks to its incredible support, our Congolese sanctuary has been able to achieve amazing things for its rescued orphans!
