The 20 monkeys repatriated from Zimbabwe are all doing well

All our newcomers are doing fine and are settling in very well. They have been set in different groups according to their species – only the guenons are mixed since some are the only individuals of their own species and we don’t want them to be alone. There is a lot of grooming and playing and …eating! We are impressed how much these little tummies devour!

The team also needs to adjust as the staff members of J.A.C.K. have worked with great apes for years. There are now 2 differents teams: (1) the keepers dedicated to the chimps and (2) the people working with the monkeys. They never mix because monkeys and chimpanzees are two different projects and we are afraid also of zoonoses…
