Today, the context is particularly challenging. The new financial reforms imposed by the Congolese government, the sharp 25% devaluation of the Euro and the US dollar against the Congolese franc, and the dramatic increase in the minimum wage between May 2025 and January 2026 (168%) are profoundly disrupting our NGO’s balance in the DRC. Added to this is an armed conflict still at the gates of the region where the sanctuary is located—a situation that fuels uncertainty and anxiety about what tomorrow may bring.
The leadership team of J.A.C.K. is facing these realities head-on. And yet, they continue. Because behind every figure and every constraint, there are lives—animals rescued from trafficking, traumatized and vulnerable, who never asked for this fate and who depend entirely on us… and on you.
