We are delighted to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Marchig Animal Welfare Trust for their generous support in our ongoing mission to improve the welfare of some of our Mangabey residents. Their contribution has played a critical role in helping us build vital new facilities for these rare and charismatic primates.
Thanks to the Marchig Animal Welfare Trust, we were able to purchase the core components needed to construct the framework of our new outside pens — including sturdy metal pipes, high-quality meshed fencing, and durable galvanized bars. These materials form the backbone of safe, secure, and enriching environments where the mangabeys can climb, explore, and enjoy the outdoor in settings that closely mimic their natural habitat.
Black-crested mangabeys and Agile mangabeys are a highly intelligent and social species, and providing them with appropriate space and stimulation is essential for their mental and physical well-being. The new outdoor areas represent a significant upgrade in their care, allowing them more freedom and opportunity for natural behaviors.
