World Chimpanzee Day

On this July 14th, we celebrate this magnificent species that is the CHIMPANZE.

The purpose of this day is:

– to make the world understand that this species is unique and that we must all take care of it;

– to make as many people as possible aware of the dangers that chimpanzees face on a daily basis (loss of their home, poaching, wildlife trafficking, captivity, etc.).

SPECIES CONSERVATION

At the beginning of the 20th century, the population of wild chimpanzees was counted at around 1-2 million individuals, while today it is estimated that no more than 300,000 live in the forests of Africa.

This July 14 is not just a simple celebration but also a day of reflection in order to find solutions on the conservation of this species.

Indeed, conserving the chimpanzee involves strengthening laws in the countries where it lives, protecting its habitat, tracking down repeat offenders in wildlife trafficking and the illegal bushmeat trade, and enforcing justice. by putting them behind bars, which is not always the case.

J.A.C.K. committed 16 years ago to work tirelessly to protect chimpanzees, hence the importance of our Rehabilitation Center which offers them veterinary care, a varied and balanced diet as well as facilities adapted to their needs so that they can one day return to the forest.

However, we cannot do it alone! Your help is essential to carry out our mission – J.A.C.K. being an NGO living only on donations.

The protection of chimpanzees is everyone’s business and everyone must do their part.
